Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Got to travel to Singapore's Marina Bay Sands. We went there late afternoon. Why late afternoon? You'll see why. There are two sections of Marina Bay Sands. The first is the hotel which you can visit the sky park with a magnificent view of Singapore. The other is the shopping mall and Casino. The shopping mall there is huge. Not that many shops yet opened but the place was big.

Don't Go There Too Early
At the back of Marina Bay Sands during Sunset
I wanted to go there late afternoon because I wanted to see the iconic building both day and night. And at night there's a light and sound show at Marina Bay. They call it "Wonderfull, the Light and Water Spectacular" Be sure to check the schedules below. It will be shown nightly but if the weather is bad they would cancel the show. So check the weather. My pictures don't give the show justice. It's a must see show. Not to mention it's FREE. Watch the introduction of the light show below. Don't want to spoil the show so just watch it when you visit Marina Bay Sands.
Wonder Full - the Light and Water Spectacular Schedule:

Sunday - Thursday: 8:00P.M. and 9:30P.M.
Friday and Saturday: 8:00P.M. , 9:30P.M. and 11:00P.M.

Marina Bay Sands Architecture
Inside the mall, the architecture is to be admired. You'll feel like you're in an underground city. It's only 3-4 floors up but also has 3 floors down. They have this huge whirlpool in the middle which you can see both in the basement floors and ground floor. Here are some images to give you an idea of the place.

Food in Marina Bay Sands
The food in Marina Bay Sands are mostly fine dining so we went to the food court to eat dinner. It's located at the basement near the skating rink. I was amuse to see Gerry's Grill there. It's a well known local Philippine restaurant. To my surprise, lots of Filipinos are ordering at the only Filipino Cuisine at the food court in Marina Bay Sands. Just a warning, Food Court here is very crowded.

Don't Go to the Casino Just Yet
If you're finish walking around the mall don't go to the Casino yet! visit the other side first. My mistake was that I didn't know that the sky park closes at 11:00P.M. so I was not able to go up. The Sky Park is a 12,400 square meters space (four 1/2 jumbo jets) is placed 200m in the sky. It has a amazing infinity swimming pool. Too bad we weren't able to see the view. So be sure to check your watches while in Marina Bay Sands. Ticket prices costs S$20 Adults and S$14 Child. For more information visit Skypark's official website. Must See Before Going to the Casino
Before you leave Marina Bay Sands Mall and Casino be sure to walk at the lake side and try going to Helix Bridge. There you will see a nice view of Marina Bay Sands and the ArtScience Museum.  These are some photos I took while crossing the helix bridge.

Casino Reminders
Now you can go to the Casino. Casino reminders! Bring your passports and men should wear pants and shoes. Visit Marina Bay Sand's official website for any updates.

Directions to Marina Bay Sands
We went there by taxi because if you take the MRT to Marina Station you still have to walk a bit and ride a bus. It's wise to go there with your passport and men should wear pants. The Casino there is strict and require passports and certain dress-codes.
