Mogu Japanese Shinsen Bar and Grill is Japanese restaurant at Serendra Piazza. They have a nice alfresco dining. Although the sign says Japanese, they also have Italian food.

Interior and Ambiance
They have a long sushi bar, although no one really sits and eat at sushi bars here in our country. As you can see they use it for plates and glasses.

Nice table arrangements and almost all tables can be merged into each other. Having said that, the tables are a bit tight for dates but great for large groups and families.

Maybe you're wondering why a Japanese restaurant has a see through kitchen with colorful writings on the glass and walls? That's because this was formerly Mezzaluna, an Italian restaurant. So you still get an Italian feel to the ambiance. Specially with the wine collections.

I love restaurants that have see through kitchens. That makes me more assured that my food is well taken cared of because customers see what the kitchen staff are doing.

Nice wine collection but I didn't quite feel that the wines were appropriate for the restaurant.

To give a more Japanese feel to the place they use Japanese inspired paper lamps on lights.

The Food
Food was ok. The wagyu beef took forever before it could be served. It was last to be served, it's like saving the best for last. Yummy!

Their fish has really small servings. I'd order other things if you're dining with a group.

Gyoza I found disappointing. I love eating gyoza and lets just say I won't order gyoza next time I'm at Mogu.

I forgot what this was called but I loved it.

Fried Rice |
Huge scallops with pasta on the top. You'll want more of this.

Because Mogu was formerly an Italian restaurant, they retained some of the menu like the pizzas and pastas.

Something different. Ordered some good old Chicken strips and fries.
