Midas Cafe Buffet, Pasay

Midas Cafe is one of the newest hotel buffet in Metro Manila. Months after its opening it has been getting good reviews, specially with its interior.

Midas Cafe is located at the former Hyatt Hotel along Roxas Boulevard, now transformed into the Midas Hotel and Casino which opened last April 2011.

Interior and Tables
Midas Cafe has a lovely and unique interior. At night, half of the restaurant is bright and very well lighted, great for family gatherings and business meetings. While the other half is dark with dimmed lights, great for couples and group dates.

I love the mirrors on Midas' "dark side". It was like a maze since almost all the walls are covered with full panel mirrors creating an illusion, which was very misleading. I almost bumped into the mirrors twice, so be careful when walking around. I wasn't able to take photos of the other side.
Mirrored Walls
They have tables that gives a wonderful view of Roxas Boulevard and Manila bay.
Manila Bay Side Tables
Midas Cafe also has few tables at the balcony.
Balcony Tables
I didn't like the Midas Cafe's reception table, it kinda reminds me of a hospital front desk with the table being all white marble.

A function room is also available which can hold upto 50 persons.

Thumbs up for the restrooms.

Food and Buffet Tables
I had an awesome welcoming cake, requested by my fiance.
Thank you cake for me :)
The center buffet table was nicely organized with a lovely centerpiece.

Fresh Seafood Section
Yummy fat prawns.
Prawns or Shrimp
Raw and cold cuts
Salads
Love the dalandan dressing with my greens.
Salad Dressings
Fresh Fruits
Grill Section
Main Courses
You can ask the chef to make you a pasta.
Pasta Section
The dim sum section was disappointing. They only have two dim sums to offer, small Siomais and very few and very dry Hakaw(shrimp dumpling). But maybe its because we were there on a weekday and there were only few customers.

Restaurant Dress Codes
As to most hotel restaurants, shorts, undershirts, sandos, pajamas and bedroom slippers are "discouraged" or in other words "not allowed".

Overall
Midas Cafe needs more choices on some sections of the buffet. Nonetheless, food is still great. Service and ambiance is delightful. Had a very quiet dinner unlike with other well known buffets. Midas definitely needs to keep par with other established hotel buffets. I'm certain that Midas will improve since it has only been less than a year since it opened.
