Dear Manok Grilled Chicken and Restaurant is one of the well known restaurants in Cagayan de Oro. It has been always associated with the city. While we have our Mang Inasal in Manila, they have Dear Manok in Cagayan de Oro.

History
Dear Manok actually first opened in Iligan City in 1997 by the Santos family. The growing business came from their small lechon stall. Since Cagayan de Oro is the couple's hometown, they opened a branch at Captain Vicente Roa Street in 1998, which was transfered to what is now the Tiano Street branch.

Interior
They have a spacious and cozy interior. Looks and feels like any other grill restaurants in Manila. Maybe the unique thing I could find is the chicken hat their waiters have.

At the back they have long tables which is great for large groups. The whole back can actually served as an event place like birthday parties.

On a wall inside you can find a short comic showing how the owner started the business. Not sure how true the story is though.

All of their drinks are prepared at the center of the restaurant.

There washing area reminded me of Kamayan Restaurant in Manila. Not sure if they still have this there, but when I was young I loved washing my hands with these. I thought they were really jars with water, not just design.

Food is very affordable and tasted ok. Their bulalo is a bit greasy for my taste.

Great hangout place with friends specially if you're on a tight budget. Food is ok, value for money.
